Responsibilities of the
BU Controller:
- Provide financial analysis and strategic guidance to the plant manager and leadership teams at the facility.
- Develop periodic forecasts, including detailed account-level and labor efficiency projections for each location.
- Conduct ROI analysis for capital projects and ensure comprehensive documentation is submitted to the expenditure committee.
- Collaborate with the plant manager to identify, evaluate, and implement profit-maximizing initiatives.
- Establish and maintain standard costs.
- Advise on inventory levels and assess related risk exposure at the plant.
- Support and participate in physical inventory counts and cycle counts.
- Manage period-end activities related to operations, including direct labor and overhead.
- Prepare and distribute monthly plant performance and variance reports to business partners.
- Act as a key member of the leadership team at the facility.
Qualifications of the
BU Controller:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics, or a related field is required.
- A minimum of 5 years of cost accounting and financial analysis experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills and the ability to manage and organize large data sets efficiently.
- Experience with ERP or MRP business systems; Oracle experience is preferred.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to understand both the broader strategic context and detailed components.
- Excellent communication and influence skills to effectively engage stakeholders and senior executives with clarity and empathy.
- Epicor experience is preferred, but not required
